In the current education system there is a lack of professional development training sessions to assist teachers with implementation and other inclusive practices. The issues of access, equity and quality does not only apply to students but to teachers as well. If students are to receive a quality delivery that addresses diversity, teachers must be able to provide this service delivery (Andrews et.al.2015, p.44).

What the acronyms mean:

Response to intervention (RTI) is a multi-tier approach to the early identification and support of students with learning and behaviour needs. The RTI process begins with high-quality instruction and universal screening of all children in the general education classroom.

Assistive technology (AT) is an umbrella term which covers the systems and services related to assistive products.

Assistive Technology Support (ATS) provides assistance for teachers and students on how to use the more technical software/devices since both people with and without disabilities may use AT.

Special Education Management is an umbrella term used for Student Services having all the information of students in a central location, providing case management support and monthly reporting and linking them to the right support.
