Problems

Shortcomings to current solutions

1

Parent Support

Parents sometimes are caught up with their personal lives that they fail to make the necessary connections with teachers about their child well being. Bridging the gap between school and home can be challenging.

2

Paperwork

The writing of IEPs, progress reports, report cards, documenting, and planning interventions is time consuming paperwork. How much time could be saved if these tasks were able to be completed quicker, more efficiently, all without sacrificing, and possibly improving the quality of work?

The amount of time spent on paperwork needs to decrease so that teachers can spend more time working with students and other staff.

3

Scheduling

Many of us have seen a Special Education Teacher spending weeks drafting up a schedule with pencil and paper, only to have to change it many times to accommodate the classroom teachers, specialized teachers, paraprofessionals, recess times, lunch times, assemblies, and other school events. Many special education teachers view their scheduling duties as challenging, frustrating, and time consuming. This tends to be especially true in larger schools. What if there was a software that minimized challenges, frustrations, and time spent on scheduling? What if that software was easily accessible to all parties involved, rather than ending up in a forgotten drawer or binder?

4

Training and supervising paraprofessionals

Paraprofessionals need to be trained to assist with student learning, for both academics and social-emotional learning.  Educational Assistants and other Paraprofessionals sometimes have a high turnover rate, whether they move to a different classroom, or school.  Some teachers have to train different Paraprofessionals on the same subject in the same year.  What if there was a software that had training modules aligned to your School District that could be accessed independently?  What if this software allowed teachers to record their own training sessions so they would only have to do it once and it would become available to all of the other paraprofessionals and teachers in their district or province?

5

Collaborating with General Teachers

Sometimes, it can take a long time to receive a reply to an email.  Walking all the way to the other end of the school only to realize that a teacher is not in their class is not fun either.  Sometimes, wonderful collaboration can dissipate into quickly forgetting what was discussed or decided, or losing the paper where the notes were written.

It can be challenging to keep track of all of the different curriculums and projects that students from various classes are involved with.

What if there was a software that streamlined all of these processes and information to maximize efficient communication and allow you to have the correct curriculum in front of you in seconds?
